It features a finger ring for ease in handling as well as a flat profile making it well suited for retraction and lying flat against the body to keep the surgical field accessible. Additionally it widens into the leaf shaped tip allowing for an even distribution of pressure over a greater surface area thus protecting the body tissue while still keeping clear access to the site of surgery.
